About Candace
Hi! I’m Candace, Principal Designer and Founder of Candace Plotz Design and I believe that everyone should Live Beautiful.
Although it took me a while to take the leap, I’ve always had a strong passion for fashion and design. Growing up, my Mom was constantly decorating and redecorating our family home. She had a knack for thinking outside of the box and using items in unexpected ways; two things I definitely inherited from her.
After college, I moved to Toronto to pursue a career in the healthcare industry and travelled across the United States implementing hospital software. This might be hard to believe but I have moved over 40 times! While one may think I would grow tired of this, I actually didn’t mind it. In fact, I loved being able to transform each new space into my own.
For years, family and friends would come to me for design advice but it took moving back to the Ottawa area and purchasing & renovating a wartime home, to realize that interior design was my true calling. Midway through renovations, I enrolled in design school and the rest is history.
Today, I help transform my clients spaces and bring a sense of pride to the homeowners I work with. I’m known for my timeless designs that mix old with new, modern with traditional and creating custom pieces tailor-made just for you.
My clients appreciate my fresh and sophisticated style, attention to detail and eye for bespoke elements that transform a space.
When I’m not designing spaces, you can find me on CTV Morning Live, where I provide regular design segments offering tips and tricks to viewers.
Design comes naturally to me and I’m so grateful that I get to do what I love everyday.
